paper, cloth & glass

My past work has always montaged multiple images of varying points of view and focus length together into one to represent memory. These “’window” images are also similarly concerned with combining layers of information but now all within one image, .i.e. with what reside on, behind and reflected by the glass of windows.

The reflected objects of buildings and sidewalks take on the qualities of and are shaped by the material behind the glass. Complex spaces are formed by the interplay between the interior and the exterior and what’s on the surface of the plane of the glass between them. They are about seeing both the past, or what is seen behind you reflected, and the present transformed into one image.
